Konfabulator

Konfabulator is a great tool to play with if you have a Mac running OS X 10.2 or higher. Sadly, the only reason I heard about it now is because Apple is creating quite a rutcuss on the new dashboard that they’re set to release in OS X 10.4 (Tiger).

Either way, in my opinion Apple’s immitation of the original product, should only be considered a form of praise to the developers of Konfabulator.

The only reason I uninstalled the application was because of the $19.95 registration cost. I hope Yahoo takes a leaf from Google’s style of acquisitions and starts to offer a free Konfabulator version. This should apply enough pressure on Microsoft to ensure that the enhanced dashboard planned for Microsoft Vista is as slick as or better than Konfabulator. [...]
