Temple Football Tickets

Yes, I got tickets to the Temple vs. Navy Football Game. Actually I got 4 tickets. I think I spammed most friends who had some connection with Temple but only got 4 people to say they’d come. Either way, students have been able to get free tickets since Wednesday and if you’re a staff member and were thinking of attending the game but didn’t want to spend money on ticket, it looks like they’re giving them away to staff for free as well, or at least they were when I picked up my tickets this afternoon.

As always, if you’re looking for media outlets to get hyped up about the game look to Temple Football Forever.

Verizon Wireless Network Expansion at Temple University

Amidst all the iPhone news from the past few days I just came across the following news release:

In a continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for local residents in Philadelphia, Verizon Wireless, the leading wireless company with the most reliable voice and data network, has expanded its network with a new cell site on Temple University’s campus. The new site increases coverage and capacity along N. Broad Street to W. Huntingdon and Master Streets, as well as Cecil B. Moore Avenue and North 8th Street.

Unfortunately, as a current Cingular AT & T subscriber, I’m still experiencing pretty bad coverage. Perhaps it’s time for a new phone.

Alter Hall

The Fox School of Business has been maintaining an excellent blog titled Alter Hall Blog primarily focusing on construction updates for the new Alter Hall. This week they’re also running a contest to anyone who posts a comment on the best description of a construction term called ‘waler’.

I think the blog and contest are great ideas on reaching the community (students and alumni) and the contest an even better way to continue to attract new visitors to the site.

In case you’re looking for help with the contest, try attending the Contractor School.

Temple University Holiday Break

Temple University has become an even more attractive place to work at thanks to the new holiday break schedule announced in the Winter Holiday Break memo from Dr. Hart. A very nice way to make my Christmas.
